Supermoto Riding Suits
It will not come as a surprise that many Supermoto riders wear Motocross riding gear however there are some excellent purpose made Supermoto one piece suits, jackets and trousers out there to choose from. Remember though that a one piece suit will always offer the best protection if you crash.
Supermoto one piece racing suit
A one piece purpose made Supermoto suit should ideally have the following :-
1.2 To 1.4mm of full grain leather for abrasion resistance.
Multiple stitched main seams for maximum tear resistance.
Heavy mesh inserts for maximum air flow.
A soft and flexible moulded collar.
Removable / washable inner liner.
Freedom of movement.
Perforated leather around the chest, stomach and thigh area.
Double leather on the more critical areas like bottom, knees and shoulders.
CE approved armour in the shoulder, elbow, forearm, knee and shin areas.
Some of the more popular Supermoto suits are Alpinestars S1, KTM Supermoto suit, Thor Supermoto suit, Halo Supermoto suit, Vanson Supermotard suit and the Arlen Ness Supermoto suit.
A Supermoto jacket should ideally have the following :-
Fully perforated leather with Mesh and Kevlar for airflow.
External CE armour for the shoulders, elbows and forearms.
Internal CE armour for the back, forearms and shoulders.
Waist ands wrist adjustment.
Pre curved sleeves for better riding position.
A removable inner liner if it gets to hot.
Some of the more popular Supermoto jackets are Alpinestar T-RC-1, Icon Motorhead, Joe Rocket, Arlen Ness Tactic and Shift Vendetta.
Supermoto trousers should ideally have the following :-
A mixture of sturdy leather and flexible material.
Double leather in impact zones.
Perforated leather in specific areas for cooling.
Double stitching for durability.
